Responsible to:  Camp Kno-Koma Board of Directors President/Camp Director

Stipend:  $500.00 from which taxes will be deducted after successful completion of all outlined responsibilities.

Qualifications:

·         At least 21 years of age

·         Experience as an activity director or staff member in camp setting

·         Ability to relate to one’s peers as well as children

·         Good character

·         Ability to work with a minimum of supervision

 General Responsibility: 

To further the mission of the camp through the planning and delivery of program activities and events. Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities. Assist in the management of the overall camp operation at the direction of the camp director.

 Specific Responsibilities:

·         Develop a schedule that meets camp outcomes and the abilities of the campers.

·         Report to Board of Directors at scheduled board meetings

·         Submit final schedule to Board of Directors for their approval no later than June board meeting of current camp year

·         Coordinate all camp program and campfire activities with other staff.

·         Provide guidelines for safely utilizing camp equipment. Ensure that camp staff and campers know and follow safety procedures during camp programs.

·         Assist in the implementation of staff training.

·         Maintain clear and positive communication with all camp staff.

·         Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities, providing support and guidance to those assigned as leaders.

·         Communicate with and resolve any schedule conflicts with the Head Counselor.

·         In conjunction with Camp Director, discipline, and dismiss if necessary, assistant activity personnel in violation of their duties

·         Communicate with the Board of Directors on a regular basis throughout the year

·         Additional items as determined by the Board of Directors
